BASI Pilates Legacy Program – Mentor is for seasoned professionals who want to hone their teaching skills and study at the highest levels.
This 3-day course is the first phase of the Legacy Program, Rael’s voyage of discovery to the extreme edges of the Pilates Method with the most accomplished of his colleagues and students. During this very personal experience, Rael shares the skills and lessons he has learned over four decades at the peak of the profession.
This course includes 18 hours of instruction and learning and is approved by the NCPC for 18 CECs.
Day One
Primary concepts covered include teaching methodology, the art of cueing, cueing as a process, as well as a discussion on higher principles. New repertoire will be taught on the Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, and Step Barrel.
Day Two
Concepts covered include exercise progression and programming, the Block System, programming for different populations, program progression, and selecting the appropriate level for clients. New repertoire will be introduced on the Reformer, Wunda Chair, and Cadillac.
Day Three
Concepts covered are exercise analysis through movement, muscle testing, movement observation and analysis, and advanced-level work as a goal. Implementation of these concepts will be discussed. More new repertoire will be introduced on the Reformer, Wunda Chair, Cadillac, Step Barrel, and Ladder Barrel.
Prerequisites
BASI Pilates Instructors: Two years of teaching experience following the completion of the Comprehensive Teacher Training Program.
Non-BASI Pilates Instructors: Three years of teaching experience following the completion of a Comprehensive Teacher Training Program with another Pilates school.
