Welcome to your new pilates practice. At NYSY you will meet teachers with excellent training who will help guide you expertly through the basics of pilates practice so you can regain strength, healing, and energy. Start your Pilates at NYSY Studios by attending: 1) Pilates Intro 2) 4 Private Lessons, or 4 Pilates Starter Classes Upon completion you can attend group classes or private lessons according to your specific needs. Note: If you have any health concerns, please visit your doctor first and get his or her permission.

A few things to know before starting classes: Pilates
Visit NYSY Studios, obtain a class schedule, register for classes.
Attend the Intro to Pilates seminar.
If you have any health concerns, take advantage of our free Physical Therapy Assessment.
Attend 4 Pilates Starter Classes; then continue with privates or Pilates Level 1 classes.
Arrive early for your class and sign your name at the front desk.
Practice on an empty stomach. Try not to eat 2-3 hours before practicing.
Drink plenty of water before class but try to avoid drinking during class.
Wear comfortable clothes. Take off your shoes before entering the studio. Please refrain from wearing any colognes or perfumes.
Please turn off cell phones completely. Time for you and your fellow yogis to disconnect and enjoy.
Introduce yourself to the teacher and let them know of any injuries or medical problems.
Practice often. For maximum benefit 4-6 times a week. Practice a minimum of 2-3 times a week to increase the benefits and feel the results.
If you have questions or need some special attention you can book a private session so that you may benefit from individual guidance.
Do not push yourself. There is no need for competition. Be good to yourself. As a great teacher reminds us, "Practice and all is coming!"
You are encouraged to set an intention for your practice. Make it a good positive goal for you or for those around you.
