Teresa Blunt is from England, and has been living in Greece since 1988. She learned Body Control – a Pilates-based technique in Athens at Jenny Colebourne’s Illium Centre. Impressed with the improvements in her own body, she undertook the Teacher Training Course in 1995-96, and has been teaching Pilates ever since. In her 10 years of working as a Pilates trainer she has had a chance to work with people of all ages and body types, and was able to see many clients improve drastically. She places special focus on breathing, and uses a variety of techniques to get students to connect with their deep abdominals. At NYSY Studios she also leads professional seminars for Pilates teachers on the following subjects: Breathing & the Deep Abdominals, Reformer, Wunda Chair, and others. She also has been working with Spineworks therapy since 2001; her intuitive skills and sensitivity have allowed her to help many people and recover from stress and pain related conditions. Teresa also practices Reiki and Time Therapy.

Georgia is a graduate of the professional dance academy “Rallou Manou”. Right after her graduation, she started performing with contemporary dance groups in different festivals and dance platforms. Her love for contemporary dance, led her in attending seminars with some of the most prominent choreographers of our time, such us Emio Greco and Wim Vandekeybus. She has worked for many years as a dance teacher (ballet+contemporary dance), working with children and adults of a wide range of ages. That previous experience in professional dance, led her in exploring the endless possibilities of the human body through different disciplines. Pursuits that finally brought her to the BASI Pilates system. So, after finishing her 500 hours teacher training education at NYSY Studio in Athens, she became more and more involved with it, as she understood the healing power of Pilates on an extensively “used” body. She has attended workshops with Rael Isacowitz, Sheri Long, Kristi Cooper White, Amit Younger, Ellie Herman, Elizabeth Larkam and others, always trying to keep up with the latest developments of the system.

Vasias first contact with yoga was in 2006 searching for a style of exercise that respects the body but also goes beyond it.
In 2013 she completed the basic 200 hours yoga teachers training with Vivi Letsou and then attended the higher education of 300 hours teacher training in order to deepen her personal practice and teaching. She has also attended seminars with various yoga systems (Hatha, Ashtanga, Anusara, Iyengar).
She loves to teach combining alignment and dynamic flow (Vinyasa) in her classes.
Emely met yoga in 2001 seeking a form of exercise that respects the body and goes beyond. From her first lesson she realized it was a lasting relationship. When she completed her studies in Communication and Media she decided to deepen her yoga commitment and the teaching idea evolved naturally. The 2008-2009 she completed 200 hours Yoga Teacher Training by Vivi Letsou and Sue Elkind. Her teaching is influenced by the Anusara system, but combines elements of different types of Hatha Yoga. Emely attended seminars with exceptional and inspirational teachers, such as Desire Rumbaugh, Rusty Wells, Mansoor, Petros Haffenrichter , Todd Tessen and Doug Swenson. Through yoga Emely has found a new, healthier way to relate to the body itself and the people around her. She is very grateful for this gift and happy to share it with everyone.

Abhaya Yoga Certified Teacher, 300 Hours
Konstantinos journey started from his teenage years through sport and mainly championship since he was panellinionikis the track, on long distances.
During that period he had some individual personal experiences which over the years and through the path of Yoga he found the real question in his personal life .
A key point in his apprenticeship in yoga was meeting his teacher Mr. Vivi Letsou and the unique school of NYSY. Her inspiriting teaching gave him the strength, the energy and pulse to study in her 200 hr Teacher Training in 2010 and the 100 hours in 2012 .At the same time he attended in several workshops with teachers from abroad like Rusty Wells (Bhakti Flow), John Friend (Anusara), Desiree Rumdaugh, who expanded his knowledge in Yoga.
For Vivi teaching is a way of sharing the richness of life’s journey. Anusara Yoga lays the foundation for a healthy body firmly grounded on this earth, and inspires the heart to align with its highest essence. A journey that both respects and frees us from our physical limitations, engages the minds deepest thinking, and brings us to the joy of the heart, is a journey worth delving into. This is the experience that Vivi loves to share with her students and friends. In the words of her Anusara teacher, John Friend, “we practice so we can bring more beauty to this world.”
Vivi has lived her life in just this way. Curious and excited as a child she discovered philosophy, Indian thought and Buddhism through books borrowed from a small library in her native Greece. At 17 she moved to California, where she completed her studies in aeronautical engineering, theater, dance and film, and then went on to become a film director/producer for two decades. For over 20 years she has practiced and taught many styles of yoga from hatha to ashtanga. And she has been deeply touched by the teachings of her Zen teacher, Tenshin Reb Anderson, who is considered “one of the rare living zen masters today.” Rebs words point to the way we are all inter-connected, and remind us that “enlightenment is the way we help each other.”
After 22 years in San Francisco, Vivi and her husband Eraj left their respective careers in film-making and high-tech marketing to come to Greece and establish NYSY Studios, a lively center in the heart of Athens where people meet to practice Yoga, Zen meditation, and Pilates. Their goal is to be a great support for people to find their true, joyful and compassionate self. Especially now, in times of challenge, Vivi and Eraj are inspired by their beloved yoga teacher and friend, Rusty Wells, whose life-style and philosophy encompasse the essence: “Let Love In, Let Love Out!”
Yoga Path Discovering yoga in the 80s, Vivi feels immense gratitude for her first teacher Kali Ray who illuminated the path of Tri-Yoga, a beautiful flowing vinyasa style of yoga. Asthanga was the next discovery with senior teacher, Tim Miller being a true inspiration in dynamic practice. Having the good fortune to study with many inspirational yoga teachers, she is blessed to have heard the simply powerful words of her beloved teacher and friend, Rusty Wells: “Be Kind, Be Love!” And to be motivated by such vibrant teachers as Anusaras Desiree Rumbaugh, who stands firmly for what she believes: “Love is Stronger than fear.” Vivi found her true teaching voice in Anusara yoga. Anusara has offered her a powerful, all-encompassing method to teach yoga, and an effective way to touch people in a positive, uplifting, and healing way. She offers teacher John Friend her eternal gratitude for sharing this wonderful way with the world, and for being a constant source of guidance and support.
Zen Meditation For over 20 years, Vivi followed her zen teacher Tenshin Reb Anderson in meditation retreats and marveled and the profundity of his teachings. If she was a better zen student she would have been enlightened by now, but not wanting to miss the opportunity of studying with this rare master, she keeps staring at the blank wall… Reb, meanwhile, keeps giving away the secret to Enlightenment: “it is the way we help each other; the intricate way through which we are all inter-connected.”
Pilates Path Vivis training in Pilates includes studies with the Physical Mind Institute, Ellie Herman Pilates, and BASI Pilates, a system she has grown to love and teach with great enthusiasm. She teaches classes and privates daily, and her highest joy is to see students empowered, healthy, and uplifted. Also, to see the team of teachers & administration at NYSY & BASI growing harmoniously to support each other and the community. Vivi believes that the key to good pilates is good training. Thus she has worked hard to bring the BASI Pilates Teacher Training programs at NYSY. In an effort to support pilates teachers to continue learning, Vivi spearheads the annual Athens Pilates Symposium, a fun, experiential, and highly educational international Pilates conference, one of the most successful in Europe. And she oversees the new workshop for pilates teachers, “Skills in Excellency.”
Faculty Basi Pilates Teacher
Efi discovered that Pilates strengthens the whole body and improves posture, while not compromising the safety of the spine. She had no choice but to give it a try! Efi fell in love with Pilates from the first session. Three years later, after having seen astonishing improvement in her body’s ability to move freely once again, she enrolled in Nysy Studios (Athens) to attend the BASI CTTC. She now wanted to learn everything about the method that had helped so much. With Efi’s background in dance and tennis, she was also inspired to study anatomy, for which BASI requires as a prerequisite. As soon as Efi completed the course, she began working at Nysy Studios where she continued her Pilates education.
Efi has never missed a chance to deepen her knowledge by repeating the BASI CTTC as a student, by attending workshops, and by taking sessions with her mentors. Efi is very interested in physical therapy, exercise physiology and the therapeutic side of Pilates. She has never stopped being an athlete and approaches Pilates with the same passion to excel. She loves challenging herself by exploring the more advanced repertoire through the Mentor Program, both in Athens and Costa Mesa. Efi loves learning, practicing, and teaching Pilates. She is equally available to every client from beginners to teacher trainees. She always gives her 100%. For Efi, every body has a different story, and every client gives her the opportunity to be a better teacher.
Efi was invited to join the BASI Faculty in 2013, which was a great honor for her. She practices Pilates daily, which keeps her strong and balanced in her mind, body and spirit. In her free time, Efi loves to stay active by walking and hiking. She unwinds by reading books and listening to music.
